This combined movement was after witnessing the sad plight of these patients for a very long time. When children of their age is attending classes the poor rheumatic patient may be wandering in the corridors the out patient departments of hospitals and medical colleges for their turn of the monthly injection or periodic re-view, through out their colour full child hood and vibrant youth period, with spine chilling fear of the doom of death, which at any moment can fall on their life like a bull from the blue, in the form of penicillin reaction or sudden cardiac death.
 

When their peers are able to run and climb any where they like the rheumatic heart patient may be panting for breath by the slightest exertion for routine activities.
 

When their friends are eligible for job and work anywhere, they are denied of all such employment opportunities and placement chances because of the presence of a heart murmur. They are with out any value in the marriage market because of this stamp right from the younger age or due to the presence of a prominent scar in the chest, the un-doubtful evidence of heart surgery they have under gone in the past.

 Those who are lucky to get married will be under the threat of heart disease related complications of pregnancy both for the mother and child because of the under lying heart problem. Or by a sheer co- incidence when the presences of the heart disease comes to the notice of the gynecologist for the first time in the life of a girl during the evaluation of the pregnancy, a careless remark about the presence of the heart murmur generally cause the ire of the husband and their relatives and at times this eventually progress to the brake of the wed-lock.

The saddest catastrophe in one's life would be in the form of a stroke at a quite unexpected time due to the dislodgment of a blood clot from the diseased heart valve or chamber which was remaining silent with out any symptoms so long. The strange way of the fate is that when this happens exactly just prior to the planned surgery disappointing every body involved in it.

 When physically handicapped persons who can do all sorts of activities without any difficulty are eligible for all governmental helps, the poor rheumatic heart patient who cannot move an inch because of their diseased valve are totally ignored. Is it not sad gentle man? What can we do for that? How can we help them? Rheumatic heart club is formed to invite the attention of general public, the educated elite, the intelligent beurocrat, the clever politicians and the generous philanthropists to this sad story.
